lilacs over here doing as they do

My lilacs are blooming like crazy.
It’s been chilly and breezy, but they’re out there being as beautiful. As they do.
I went out to cut some.
Even though we’ve been in construction chaos, I wanted to see and smell them in the house.

It was absolutely worth it.
Dang, I wish y’all could smell this!

Luckily, we have a Lilac also and the scent is DREAMY. We planted it a few years ago and this is the first year I’ve seen it bloom out like this. Fantastic. Wish I had a few more. My true love is Gardenias, though, but we have a heck of a time trying to keep them alive. Last year we planted maybe 8 of them and only one made it. I’m starting to think something is off with the soil that Gardenias need.

    • Gardenias are notoriously finicky. I’m hopeful you’ll figure it out and enjoy that scent all summer long!

  3. Lilacs have a wonderful perfume. ❤
